Mooneista (IRE) is the latest Group-winning import to join Kia Ora’s broodmare band after being purchased for 850,000 gns at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale.
Mooneista made 21 starts in three seasons on the track, winning the Group II Sapphire Stakes at the Curragh, and Listed Woodlands Stakes at Naas. She placed a further 11 times, six in stakes races, and was fourth behind Nature Strip in the Group 1 King Stand Stakes.
By emerging broodmare sire Dandy Man, Mooneista is the best of six winners out of 5-times stakes-winner Moon Unit from the family of champion Old Vic.
