Mihiri showed a great turn of foot when winning on Saturday at Randwick over 1200m in a F&M benchmark 80 on a good 3 track. Given a great ride by jockey James McDonald, stalking the leaders for most of the race after jumping from a wide draw McDonald produced Mihiri for a sustained sprint down the centre of the track winning by 2.5 lengths on the line. Mihiri a home bred for Kia Ora (Danoise x More Than Ready 4yo mare) is really coming into her own with the Hawkes stable and is learning to relax in her races, if improvement continues she will be given her chance to earn black type.
